Ritika Phogat (Hindi: “रितिका फोगट” born 25 March 2004) was an Indian citizen, sportsperson, wrestlers, and entrepreneur from Jaitpur, Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. She was famously known in the country as the maternal sister of popular female wrestlers named Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat, Ritu Phogat, and Sangeeta Phogat.
Like her cousins, she also learned wrestling from her uncle “Mahavir Singh Phogat”. According to the sources, Ritika has also participated in various junior-level competitions.

According to the media sources, Ritka Phogat committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan on the night of 15 March 2021. As per the statement of Haryana Police, Ritikatook her own life at her uncle Mahavir Singh Phogat’s home in Balali village[1]Times of India.
Media sources and Ritika’s family members believe that she took this horrible step because of depression for losing the 53kg category of the state sub-junior competition held on 12 to 14 March at Lohagarh Stadium in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

According to Mahavir Singh Phogat’s statement, Ritika participated in the 53kg category of the state sub-junior competition from 12-to 14 March 2021. After that, he told that Ritika Phogat had reached the final round but lost to Bhilwara’s wrestler Maya Mali in the final match.

After that, she went into depression. After losing the match, Ritika did not eat anything on the way from Bharatpur to the village. She went to her room without eating anything at home.
When Ritika’s aunt went to the room to give her food, she did not respond. After this, her aunt saw the hanging body of Ritika from the window. After this, Mahavir Singh informed the police.
